ABX Air Wins Bronze Healthy Ohioans Award

Employees participate in 1 Million Miles Walk

WILMINGTON, OH - June 28, 2005 - ABX Air (NASDAQ:ABXA) celebrated National Employee Health and Fitness Day by attending an awards ceremony recognizing Healthy Worksite Award winners. ABX earned the Governor's Healthy Ohioans Healthy Worksite Bronze Level Award.

The Healthy Worksite Award was developed through the Governor's Healthy Ohioans Program. It is a statewide initiative to create healthy schools, healthy businesses, healthy state employees and healthy communities by encouraging Ohioans to improve nutrition, increase physical activity and prevent or reduce tobacco use.

Eleven companies were recognized statewide for demonstrating their commitment to employee health.

"It was an honor to receive the Bronze Award from Governor Taft recognizing ABX Air's effort in creating a Healthy Worksite," said Cathy Miller, Wellness Committee Representative. "The award distinguishes ABX Air as an employer that places great importance on the health and wellness of our employees." Winning the Bronze Level Award earns ABX Air a seat on the Regional Healthy Ohioans Business Council.

Over 30 companies participated in the Worksite Awards. In addition to ABX Air, three other organizations were recognized with a Bronze Award; three with Silver Awards and four with Gold Awards. For more information on Ohio's health initiatives, visit www.healthyohioans.org.

"The Fitness Center is a great example of how ABX Air provides opportunities and support for employees to be healthy," said Phil Flowers, Fitness Center Representative. "Add to that solid health insurance, the new Healthcare Center and other activities throughout the year, and you can see ABX really wants to help employees be healthy."

Also on National Employee Health and Fitness Day, ABX Air participated with many other community groups encouraging Ohioans to walk one million miles collectively. ABX Air contributed 35 miles with 22 participants on the May 19 event. Four one-half mile paths were created and marked by Fitness Center Coordinator/Trainer Melanie Crites-Hull.

"This was a great idea," Crites-Hull said. "What is better is that now that we have outlined the walking paths, our employees can continue to use them all summer long."

"This also inspired us to design a walking Class every Monday at noon," she added. The class incorporates 20 minutes of walking with 20 minutes of toning. The hope is to get more people up and active.

The Fitness Center offers a variety of classes five days a week, two to three times each day. Circuit Circle is a new class offering. It is a program employees can start at any time of the day and complete a 30-minute cardio/strength program.
