Newell Discusses Problem Solving at CCLI Noon Time College

WILMINGTON, Ohio - August 14, 2006 - ABX Air's (NASDAQ:ABXA) Jim Newell presented Six Sigma practices as a means of problem solving at the first in a two-part series for the Clinton County Leadership Institute's (CCLI) Noon Time College.

"Providing a six sigma overview as it relates to better decision making is a great learning opportunity for the leaders in our community," said Newell, Director of Planning and Technical Services for ABX Air.

Newell is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and oversees the administration of ABX Air's Six Sigma program. Six Sigma is a continuous improvement program that focuses on reducing variation in everyday processes. Reducing variation in the process produces more predictable results.

"Problem Solving is about understanding our processes and how we perform to our customer's expectations," added Newell. "The more we understand our customer's needs, the better we can focus on our internal processes and perform at optimal levels."

Noon Time College is one of the many programs sponsored CCLI. The Problem-Solving series, presented Aug. 8 and Aug. 15, is the second series of the summer. Running 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and including lunch, the program provides a dynamic environment for leadership skills training, networking and practical tools to address issues in business and the community. It is part of CCLI's continuing effort to develop innovative methods for guiding potential leaders into productive community service.

The Youth Collaborative will kick off in the fall with the start of school and lead right into the hARvesT Festival and the Drifters & Cleftones concert in late September.
