UnitedHealth Group Honors ABX Air, Inc. For Making Health Care More Accessible To Its Employees

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - July 23, 2007 - UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) today announced that ABX Air, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABXA) has received a 2007 Apex Award, an honor given to employers in recognition of exceptionally innovative health care benefits strategies.

Wilmington, Ohio-based ABX Air won its award in the "Accessibility" category and was honored for launching an on-site health clinic that puts more affordable, routine health services within reach for its employees, many of whom live in rural communities. Thanks to the new center, many employees no longer have to turn to the emergency room for their primary care needs.

"ABX Air has shown it is truly committed to making a significant impact on the lives of its employees by ensuring workers have access to quality, affordable health care," said Tracy Bahl, CEO of Uniprise, the UnitedHealth Group business that works with large national employers. "By making health care - especially preventive care - more accessible to its employees, ABX Air is helping foster better health outcomes in the long run."

The air cargo company opened the center in 2004 to assist employees who had trouble finding a community doctor and instead were having to visit the emergency room for regular care. Others worked the night shift, and were asleep during most doctors' normal office hours. The onsite clinic makes health care accessible at all times of the day. It is now open 90 hours a week, including weekends and night shifts, and averages more than 100 visits a day.

"The ABX Air Healthcare Center has provided employees with great opportunities to get access to quality medical care," said Jeff Walling, benefits manager at ABX Air. "Since our company is a 24-hour operation, it is important that employees have access to health care outside doctor's traditional office hours. Additionally, the center allows for employees to receive physical therapy and wellness options at an easily accessible facility."

An independent judging panel, comprised of leaders from across the health care industry, selected the 2007 Apex Award winners based on employers' innovative approaches to a specific health care challenge. This year's judges praised ABX Air for displaying "an innovative use of an emerging tactic with the opening of the on-site clinic," and said the company "has clearly shown a commitment to its employees by offering improved access to affordable and convenient health care."

Now in its third year, the Apex Awards program is sponsored through UnitedHealth Group's hub magazine, a health care publication that examines employers' and care providers' best practices in improving access to affordable, quality health care. Employers of all sizes are eligible to apply for an Apex Award, which is given in four categories: Accessibility, Quality, Affordability and Simplification.

Other 2007 Apex Award winners include: Abbott, a pharmaceutical company based in Illinois; Connecticut-based General Electric; LabCorp, a North Carolina-based clinical laboratory services company; Southern California Schools VEBA, a health benefits trust; and the State of Rhode Island.
